What are web 1.0 and web 2.0?

Web 1.0 refers to the first generation of the World Wide Web, which was largely static and focused on providing information. Web 1.0 was characterized by the use of HTML (HyperText Markup Language) to create simple websites with text and images. These websites were often created and maintained by individuals or small organizations and were accessed through desktop browsers like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.

Web 2.0, also known as the "participatory web," represents the second generation of the World Wide Web.
